It is a tedious and time consuming task. That's why we’re here! Our Three Step Process Explained
Step 1: Vinyl Removal
We use heat, plastic razors, blood, sweat and tears to remove the vinyl. For newer vinyl this process can be quite speedy and straight forward. However older, degraded vinyl often needs to be peeled scraped off in a tedious manure. Our years of experience have taught us to tow the line between speed and safety. Rushing can cause excess damage to the underlying paint. We work efficiently to save you time and money, without rushing and damaging the paintwork.
Step 2: Glue Removal
Adhesive removal. It is essential to remove all remaining adhesive residue before polishing. We use a safe, automotive grade chemical to remove stubborn glue residue. Depending on several factors such as quality of adhesive used, age of the vinyl, and storage conditions this step can take drastically different amounts of time.
Step 3: Paint Correction
The process of removing old vinyl and glue leaves the underlying paintwork marred and in a condition that requires Paint Correction (aka cut & polishing). Additionaly, there will often be a clear outline in the paintwork where the signage was. This is called ghosting. It is caused by the harsh UV rays oxidizing and dulling the exposed paintwork, while the paint under the vinyl remains untouched. We combat this by polishing the paint to a uniform, high gloss finish. Hiding the ghosting while making the whole vehicle pop with renewed shine and clarity.
